-Where to go?? What to do??-

It's been raining non-stop this past few weeks here in the East-Coast region of Malaysia.. I'm saying this because I live in that area, specifically, Terengganu.. It's getting worse out here..

Luckily, my house wasn't affected by the flood.. However, the houses around me are.. The flood has really done some serious damages.. Houses and shops flooded, roads closed off, cars broke down, etc.. I really pity those who have been affected by it.. I pray for their health and safety..

Anyway, I'm stuck at home.. Can't really go anywhere.. Thus, I'll be bored sooner than I thought.. I hope it ends soon.. I only have less than 2 weeks of holiday to enjoy.. Bummer!!

-McLEAD 2009-

On the 19th till the 22nd of November 2009, I attended a seminar called the Management Course for Student Leaders (McLEAD) in Cherating, Pahang.. I was representing my club which is the Gabungan Pelajar Melayu Semenanjung (GPMS)..

FYI, there are like almost 90 clubs/societies in IIUM.. That's a lot! And all of them are different and unique in their own way.. Some of them couldn't make it but most of them did.. It was a very lively event..

The programme started in IIUM.. We had a briefing that night before we departed to Cherating early the next day.. We stayed at Sanctuary Beach Resort.. The place was OK but due to the rain, we couldn't get out much.. So, we mostly spent our time indoors.. The next 3 days were spent mostly in the meeting hall listening to talks, doing group works and presenting our proposal..

The talks, activities, presentations, etc., were all very interesting and motivating.. Best of all, we had FUN! The participants and facilitators were really friendly, funny, cool and easy to work with.. I made new friends, learned a lot of things and had a great time.. It was one of the best programmes I've been to, so far.. It was just simply awesome!! (^_^)

-ENGL 2090: English Literature - Beowulf to Johnson-

Finally, it's all over!! Freedom!! (^_^)

Today was my final paper, English Literature: Beowulf to Johnson.. It was at 9am at Banquet, CAC.. The exam was ok, 50/50.. Some were easy, some were not.. That's normal.. But I managed to answer it all.. Hopefully I get an A for this subject.. *fingers crossed*

I'm just speechless right now.. I don't know whether to be happy or sad.. I'm happy that the finals are over, but I'm sad that another semester has ended.. So many memories to cherish.. Made new friends, learned many new things, did things I wouldn't even dare to (i meant good things),etc..

This semester I was a bit active, hence the two positions I'll be holding for next year.. Next semester is gonna be a bit hectic for me.. Got 6 subjects to learn, classes from Monday to Saturday, earliest at 8am and the latest at 6.20pm (not everyday, but still..), 2 clubs to manage, etc.. Hope I won't go crazy by the end of the semester..

Although my exams are over, I still have responsibilities.. For the next three days, starting tomorrow, I'll be attending a seminar called McLEAD in Cherating, Pahang.. I'll be representing my club, GPMS.. I was supposed to go to a meeting in UiTM Shah Alam but I switched places with a friend of mine.. I don't mind, as long as she's happy..

Well, I better start packing up all my stuff and then get some rest.. It's gonna be one tiring week for me starting from tonight.. Just peachy!

P/S: To all IIUM students, especially BENL students, Happy Holidays!! Good luck on your results!! See you next semester!! (^_^)

-ENGL 2060: History of the English Language-

Today was a nightmare! I had my fourth exam which was History of the English Language.. The title course itself explains it all.. Anyone who is close to me knows that I HATE history-related subjects.. Not just any subjects, HISTORY-RELATED + LINGUISTIC-RELATED subjects!! It's a killer combination for me.. I don't get along with things like terms, research, statistics, analysis, etc.. My mind is the subjective type, if you know what I mean..

Anyway, today's exam was in Main Hall, CAC (again!!) at 9am.. The hall was still freezing cold.. Not only did I have to wake up so early in the morning, I had to take a really cold shower.. Damn.. It was so cold, it felt like I was in Genting.. *sigh*

The exam was a disaster.. The moment I opened the question paper, my mind was like "WTF?? What kind of question is this??".. It was't what I expected, totally.. I don't know how I did for this paper.. I'm just hoping I pass this subject so that I won't have to repeat it again.. *sigh*

Oh well.. My next and final paper is this Thursday at 9am.. I'm just looking forward to when it's all over..

-SOCA 1010: Introduction to Sociology-

3 papers down, 2 more to go.. *sigh*

Today's exam was Introduction to Sociology.. Started at 3pm at Main Hall, CAC.. I'm just happy that I'm done with it..

It was easy for the first part.. When it came to the second and third part, it was a bit challenging.. Not that I didn't study, it's just that I had a minor mental block during the exam.. And the condition in the exam hall wasn't helping either.. It was freezing cold!! Plus, it was raining outside.. That made it even colder than ever in there.. It was like winter in the hall, minus the snow.. I'm just thankful that I can answer all the questions..

Now, I gotta concentrate for tomorrow's paper, History of the English Language, at 9am.. Got less than 24 hours to study.. The pressure is killing me!! *sigh*

-ENGL 2999: Research Methodology-

Today was my second paper, Research Methodology.. It was held at Exhibition Gallery, KAED, at 3pm.. I have no idea on what to comment about this paper.. I'm neither happy nor unhappy.. But I was a bit terrified about this paper as it is quite hard for me.. I'm more of a Literature person compared to Linguistic.. And this paper is more to Linguistic.. However, I manage to answer most of the questions.. There were one or two questions that were difficult..

Anyway, I'm glad it's done.. Now, I have a 1-week gap till my next exam which is on November 16.. Hmm, what to do?? I can't just laze around doing nothing.. Still need to study, got another 3 more papers.. Oh well, study it is.. *sigh*

-ENGL 3060: American Literature-

Today was the day where I started my final examination.. And my first paper was American Literature at 9am this morning.. I think I did pretty good just now, considering what I've gone through this past few days.. It was 2-days of intense studying.. My head was filled with various American history, literary movements and literary works, timelines and important dates, pioneers, philosophy,etc.. I felt like I was turning into 'Emily Dickinson'.. I was struggling so hard that I stayed up all night with my friends studying like there was no tomorrow.. I only got some rest when the exam was over..

But I'm glad it's all over now, I meant for this paper.. Still got 4 more papers to go.. Next paper is tomorrow, 8/11 at 3pm, which is ENGL 2999: Research Methodology.. Wish me luck!! (^_^)
