-Goodbye Braces, Hello Retainers-

This picture was taken 2 years after I've fixed my teeth with braces.. It's the only picture I found that is me smiling with my teeth showing.. To tell you the truth, I rarely smile like this when my picture is taken.. Heck, I don't have a picture of myself much.. I'm so not a photogenic person.. Anyway, back to my original intention of writing this post.. As you've read the title, I'm now no longer wearing my braces.. After two and a half long and excruciating years, I've have finally taken it off.. Yay! But I kinda miss them right now.. Who doesn't after wearing it for two and a half years?? It's like a part of me, my identity.. Now my teeth feels naked.. Not in a literal sense, mind you..

But it doesn't stop there.. Oh no! In fact, I have to wear retainers now.. And it's so uncomfortable and when you wear it, it's hard to speak properly.. It's like you're two years old again, talking like you have no teeth.. Bummer! But I got used to it in a few days.. The not-so-interesting part of it all is that when I wanna eat, I have to take it off.. And when I'm done eating, I have to put it back on.. That's major work right there.. And imagine taking out your retainer (that looks like a denture) in front of your friends and family before eating.. Disgusting! I have to do that every single time I wanna eat.. And I have to brush my teeth twice the amount I normally do.. That's like five times a day!! Luckily I'll only be wearing it for the next three months.. After that, I'm totally free!!

I started wearing my retainers on the 8th of July.. That means I've only been wearing it for like one and a half weeks.. Still new.. Well, here's a picture of my weird but pinkish-ly colourful retainer.. It really does look like a denture.. My friends keep teasing me about it, especially the guys.. But I don't mind.. Not everybody gets to wear retainers, so I feel very special and unique.. Hehe..
